ROBBERY

At about 3:00 AM Eastern Time Friday September 3rd I was robbed in front of Tryst on 18th Street in Adams Morgan. The suspects were three African American males and one female, apparently in their late teens or early 20's, medium to dark complected. One of then was wearing a rhinestone pendant around his neck. They took my ATM card, cell phone, keys and Starbucks card. All were in a purple velvet drawstring bag.

The female was very petite, may have scratch marks on her arms, neck or face. The males were roughly five feet seven inches. At least one had braids. One was missing a tooth. They were last seen headed eastbound on Columbia Road.
If you have any information, please call (202) 673-6815 and ask for Detective Luna. the case # is 127287

Thank you

RUMOURS II

Citadel Board Op Dies

Sketchy details. Updated. DCRTV hears that a Citadel board op in his 30s died during the past week. Some sources say that he was found collapsed in a studio at the Citadel DC radio complex on Jenifer Street (right), which houses WMAL, WRQX, and WVRX, and that an ambulance was called and he was pronounced dead at a local hospital. However, other sources say that the man did not collapse at the station, and died elsewhere. He leaves behind a wife and young child. One source tells us that he was a former board op for WMAL, but may have been still doing overnight shifts for WRQX and WVRX. "I guess there was some confusion that it was an actual current employee. That's probably because even when he did work in the building, it was overnights and weekends, and most people didn't know him," we're told. Other sources tell us that he was a former employee at all three stations, but had returned to work there. More as we hear it.....

THE MENSA SONG

If there were ever a song which deserved to be on the Internet, this is it:

(Sung to the tune of "MacNamara's Band")

We have a club called Mensa and we think it's really grand
Although we're few in numbers we're the finest in the land
We dabble in computers and degrees and works of art
A few of us are talented, but all of us are smart

CHORUS:
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM-DUM
BUT THE MEMBERSHIP OF MENSA IS AS BRILLIANT AS THEY COME.

Our members are a motley crew in terms of their physique
They're short and tall and thin and fat and powerful and weak
And some are photogenic, and some would break your heart
A few of us are beautiful, but all of us are smart

CHORUS:
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM-DUM
BUT THE MEMBERSHIP OF MENSA IS AS BRILLIANT AS THEY COME.

We have a lot of parties where we talk a deep blue streak
The problems of the universe would take us just a week
And even if we sometimes put the horse before the cart
A few of us are practical, but all of us are smart.

CHORUS:
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM-DUM
BUT THE MEMBERSHIP OF MENSA IS AS BRILLIANT AS THEY COME.

Mentality is what we claim, we prove it by a test
At filling in the proper box we surely are the best
A few of us have healthy minds but there's another part
A few of us are paranoid, but all of us are smart.

CHORUS:
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM-DUM
BUT THE MEMBERSHIP OF MENSA IS AS BRILLIANT AS THEY COME.

Our manners are quite varied, as i'm sure you will agree
The best of us speak softly 'mid the cakes and cups of tea
While others smoke, and drink a lot, and curse and belch and fart
A few of us are very nice, but all of us are smart.

CHORUS:
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM
OTHERS ARE DUM-DE-DUM-DE-DUM-DUM
BUT THE MEMBERSHIP OF MENSA IS AS BRILLIANT AS THEY COME.

Lyrics by Joe McLellan. Words, too.

BRUSHING UP MY COMPUTER SKILLS

My New Year’s Resolution is to brush up my computer skills, as that seems to be what is holding me back most professionally. What I am most interested in is audio and video production/editing. I already have a master’s degree in telecommunications from the University of Florida, but that was a while ago.

A web search turned up the Columbia School of Broadcasting and the Art Institute – a co-worker says she attended classes at Omega recording studios in Rockville. I am also looking at NOVA, Montgomery College and American University. Does anyone have any takes on these? Thanks!
